Your post brings out some imporant questions that we should ask ourselves about this phenomenon.
The first natural question that comes into my mind is can we completely ignore this concept of "advertisements" which is an integral part of Marketing, which play a significant role in Commerce and Finance in a country, or more precisely in the globe, as far as the international trade is concerned.
I have a feeling that advertising is not a bad thing and different professional organisations such as Charted Institute of Marketing, UK (CI-UK) and Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) have developed definitions and code of ethics for marketers that can be practised by them in their professional career.
The whole idea behind this is the lack of professionalism !!! This is present not only in Adversting sector but also in many other professional categries...
this is the CIM's Definition of Marketing
"Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably"

Building the argument in that way I believe, Advertisement, brodly Marketing, has a significant role to play in national economic development but the problem that SL is facing right now is lack of professional marketers...
Thank you for posting an article that has some national importance...Dulip's Thoughtshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08364007247354193680noreply@blogger.com
